Honestly the only stupider sports car convertible conversion would be something like a GT3 RS.

I'll be honest those buttresses looked really good. But damn is this thing going to be heavy.

Yeah. It would be pretty heavy I actually wish it had no buttresses. I bet that if you added 300-400lbs to the gtr it would still be a very competent performer. Think about what it does with nearly 4000lbs.

I'm speculating, but the GTR is one of a few cars that could have the roof hacked off and still retain the structural integrity for the car to still remain enjoyable from a driver's standpoint. I'd worry much more about legitimate convertible models based on structurally less sound platforms, like a new VW Beetle Convertible.
